Shimane Prefecture made a decision to be a leader in the creation and expansion of employment and to form a wide variety of shop-floor production (MONOZUKURI) industries based on new technologies, with the prefecture organizing five project teams to take the initiative in developing new materials and technologies. Within these five projects is the project for ICT development team, with a purpose which is to lead to the creation and expansion of employment in the ICT development area and the cultivation of ICT engineers. The project for ICT development team is now focusing on the promotion of the following three points:
(1) Research and development of new technology and products manufacturing
The project for ICT development team always tries to acquire patents related to the research and development of new technology in the ICT development area, as well as transferring technologies to corporations in the prefecture. These actions aim at not only increasing the shipment of products but also creating employment.
(2) Human resource development programs
The project for ICT development team aims to develop superior type of person who will play an important role in ICT development area within Shimane Prefecture.
